The Missoula Community Center has been designed to attach to the north end of the Currents Aquatics Center, the popular indoor water park, located in McCormick Park. It is part of the McCormick Park Master Plan adopted by the City of Missoula.

Being attached to Currents ensures that both facilities complement one another while expanding year-round opportunities for sports & recreation, health & fitness, visual & performing art, and cultural & community activities.

McCormick Park is highly accessible and centrally located in the Heart of Missoula along the south side of the Clark Fork River.  It is on Missoula's extensive bike, trail, and bus system and is a natural hub to/from all sectors of Missoula.

The aerial photo on the right was collected in April 1999.  The aerial photo on the left was collected in April 2020.  The 1999 photo shows the old (leaking badly) pool that was replaced in 2004 by Currents (north of the Silver's Pond) and Splash Montana located in Playfair Park. In the 2020 photo you can see the additions of the MOBASH Skatepark, the Silver Summit All-Abilities Playground, the Currents aquatics facility, and other adjacent development. These improvements were spurred on by the citizens of Missoula.
